SeaLoft Oceanfront Hotel

The room was spacious, and the full-size fridge was handy for storing our drinks and leftovers. We stayed three nights in a two-queen room with an ocean view, and the location was convenient, close to the boardwalk and steps from the beach. The stay was good overall, but the cleaning could have been better: there was a tortilla chip under the couch, dust on the table, and my feet got dirty walking barefoot because the floors weren't completely clean. Some front desk staff seemed iffy, like they didn't want to be there. After we checked out, I called and spoke with a woman who said I could leave my food in a mini fridge until I came back to get it. She also said I could leave my car parked there until at least midnight. But when I got downstairs, the front desk guy didn't know who or what I meant and said I couldn't leave the car. The lack of communication was frustrating. Also, strong marijuana smoke was coming from one of the rooms on our floor. For a non-smoking hotel, I think that should be enforced.

The location is great, which makes it a shame that we won't be coming back. We've stayed here every summer for years, but this trip changed that. I was overcharged by almost $300 and had to ask about it at the hotel, then call again after getting home before I received a refund. I booked an ocean view room, but most of what we saw was the neighboring hotels, with just a corner view of the beach. I told them after check-in and was told nothing could be done. They offered a one-day chair and umbrella rental, but we already had our own. The room should be called a partial ocean view. The balcony door lock was broken, so we couldn't lock it. The carpet was dirty and hadn't been vacuumed. Our room slept six but had just one bath towel and no TV remote; staff fixed those when we called. The small fridge worked for us, but the ice machine was empty every morning, so don't count on filling a cooler there. The place has been updated, with a nice lobby and what look like new fixtures and pictures in the rooms.

We really enjoyed the balcony in the evenings and being so close to the beach. The room was clean and updated, and the pool was spotless. Everyone we met, from the front desk staff to the housekeepers, was very friendly and helpful. We'd happily come back. Thank you!

The view from the top floor was fantastic in both daylight and at night. We booked a two-room setup up there, and could hear the ocean and feel the breeze from the bed or balcony. Getting back and forth to the beach was easy, too. The rooms were good and the beds comfortable. The internet was the drawback. If the TV won't connect, try unplugging it, waiting three minutes, then plugging it in again.
