The property is old, with scraps of carpet left over from a poor remodel. The toilet seat is loose, and the whole toilet moves on the floor. I also spotted what seemed like different kinds of bugs, and light comes in under the door. Trains pass right beside the property several times a day. The staff, though, were amazing, probably the best hotel staff I've seen.

We'd stayed here before, but this visit was disappointing and we won't come back. I asked for an early check-in at 12:30 for the double queen non-smoking room I'd booked. They gave us a key, but the desk worker said she didn't know whether our room was ready because rooms were still being cleaned. Our room was open and waiting to be cleaned, right next to a guest smoking outside, and it reeked of cigarettes. I asked to switch. We saw other cleaned rooms nearby, but were told they weren't available, and the staff member asked why I'd want one if I was going to complain about the smell. They moved us to a non-smoking room on the other side of the building, but we had to wait in the parking lot until 3pm. It looked like ours was the last room they got to, since they were only starting it at 2:45pm. While we waited, guests were yelling, arguing, and cussing by their car. The room was still dirty when we finally got in. There were bugs everywhere, and it didn't look like the room had been swept or the bathroom deep-cleaned. The security lock was coming off the door, the fridge barely worked, and the restroom door wouldn't stay closed unless we wedged a towel between it and the frame. Later, my partner saw that the rooms they'd called unavailable were empty. We felt unsafe, and the place seemed unsanitary. The beds and pillows were comfortable, but the pillows were stained and the comforter/quilt was rough. I don't recommend staying here.

The location is impeccable, the air conditioner worked great, and the beds were comfortable. But the rooms smelled musty and were extremely dirty, like they hadn't been swept in years. I found a couple of hairs under my blanket but stayed, figuring they might have come from the woman who made the bed. I booked one room for two nights and another for one night. The next morning, after my friends returned their key, I watched a man go in, straighten the beds, and take out the trash before another couple was put in the room. He didn't change the sheets or bring in any cleaning supplies. I also think I got bed bugs. I woke up itching with several groups of three or four bumps in a row, so I stopped for bedbug spray and treated all my belongings before bringing them into my house.

I stayed about a week while handling a real estate transaction and had a good time. The location's great, with good restaurants just down the road. An electric scooter is handy, and riding along the ocean front and around Ocean Spring was fun. The service was decent, the rooms were livable for business, and the air conditioning worked. They served breakfast, which was free, though obviously not five-star. It's a two-star hotel, so that's the kind of stay to expect.

I called headquarters and left a complaint, though I don't expect it to go anywhere. Nearly 18 hours after we checked out, while driving through the night home, we got a call from a worker whose name I wasn't given. She aggressively accused us of stealing a bed cover, then towels too. I said we hadn't taken anything and asked her to check, since I'd rolled the sheets together after stripping the beds. She threatened to check the cameras and call the police. I told her she could check, and even gave her the exact time we left the room. Since she was attacking our character and being needlessly rude, I asked for someone above her. She said she was the manager and there was nobody else. After arguing back and forth, she said she'd call with an update about whether they found their linen and that we should expect the police. She never called back. Before all that, our stay had already been disappointing. A very sweet older woman checked us in and noticed the hotel had no infant option for our king reservation, so she moved us to a double queen where the baby could sleep on the extra bed. We found holes in the walls and a wobbly, warm fridge with no freezer for breast milk. We were tired and decided it was okay for one night, and took photos of the holes in case anyone later accused us of damage. Water was on the floor beside the bed and behind the toilet after we used the plumbing. We figured it was a budget hotel for one night, used some towels, and planned to tell the desk at checkout. The train was loud and the neighbors had a yappy dog, but we shrugged that off too. When we checked out, we told the same woman about the water. She seemed to know what we meant, though she didn't write anything down, so I assumed it was fine. I always pile used towels together and strip the beds before leaving to make cleaning easier and make sure I haven't left anything behind.
