Motel 6 Oceanside, CA

I’m here pretty often and find the place affordable, with generally friendly, helpful staff and rooms that are always clean. There’s lots to do nearby and plenty of restaurants. My only room complaints are that the floor seems to leave my feet a bit dirty after I shower, and the WiFi isn’t good. Otherwise, it’s great.

The price seemed okay, but this place didn’t feel like a two-star hotel. We found roaches, the shower head didn’t work properly, and the TV was broken. The front desk already knew about these problems. I reported them on our first day of a three-day stay, but nothing happened until the third day, just before we were leaving, when they suddenly offered to move us. I said that was unacceptable because they should have moved us when I first raised it. They offered a $39 refund, and I later found that only that amount had been refunded. My deposit still hasn’t come back. When I called, the person I spoke to said he was more or less the manager, then offered either a one-day refund if I checked out or $13 per day. We paid over $200 for three days with roaches, a broken TV, and a faulty shower, got $39 back, and still don’t have the security deposit. What? Bad place.

The room was exceptionally clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower had strong water pressure. The AC stayed quiet all night, and parking felt both safe and convenient. I also found good food nearby, just a few minutes away. Check-in was quick, with a warm, professional welcome at the desk. For the price, it’s fantastic value and a peaceful place to sleep. I’d come back and recommend it to friends and family.
