Oceanside Inn and Suites

When we came back after our short trip up North, they’d put in a new toilet paper holder and added another towel rack. Looks like they’re still making little room improvements ahead of the busy season. My son and I liked the two-bedroom room 101, which is attached to the office. It was surprisingly quiet, and any office conversations were muffled and didn’t bother us. The owners were very nice. One morning I went to the office for coffee, but the carafe was empty. The owner must have seen me leave without any, because a few minutes later he knocked on our door to say he was brewing more. We first stayed two nights, then returned three nights later for another two-night stay. That was a nice touch.

The owners helped us move to another room after we had to change rooms on the first night. A woman next door was banging on the walls and shouting that we were devil worshipers. It was bizarre. You can also hear neighbors coughing and snoring, so the rooms could use soundproofing. On the plus side, the grounds and rooms were clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and there was a fridge freezer, microwave, hairdryer, iron and board. There are coffee shops and a cafe nearby.

Don’t let the low rating put you off. It’s in an excellent location, and getting in and out of your room is easy. The place was clean and updated, with everything you need for a perfect stay.

I booked directly with the hotel and paid for a room with a kitchen, but when we arrived they said they’d given it to someone else. They offered no apology or compensation for the lesser room we got. That room was subpar, with paper-thin walls, and the staff seemed not to care at all. I also believe there’s a bed bug infestation in many rooms. Avoid staying here if you can.
