Days Inn by Wyndham Odessa

Room 119 has mice. At first everything seemed fine, and the room looked reasonably clean. It had a full size fridge and two stovetop burners. But around 3 AM I heard something and looked into it, and it turned out to be mice or rats. There was also a lot of what looked like tweaker activity in the parking lot when I left at 3:30 AM to find another hotel.

The woman at the front desk made a difficult arrival better. She was kind, chatted with me while I checked in, and gave me five star service. She was a slightly older woman who likes disco, and I really appreciate her. I hope they pay her well. This was around 10:13 p.m. Earlier, when I pulled into the lot on April 11, 2026, a man I assumed was the manager rushed up to my truck and asked if I was staying there. After I said yes, he told me I could park there but needed to park in the dirt. When I asked if I could check in first, he said yes and walked off. I had no idea who he was, and that was very rude. Once inside, I heard a friendly hello from behind the desk and started to think things might improve. The desk agent told me a new employee was watching while he trained. After the friendly check-in, I decided to give the place a chance.

The office staff were great, really friendly. I had a large room with a king size bed, and the full size fridge was useful for my extended stay. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower had hot water with good pressure. A nice place to stay.

The sheets had stains all over them, and the room was just gross. It took the AC a couple of hours to catch up because the room was extremely hot. The shower never got warm, either. With the poor quality, it felt like they were trying to save money. At least I didn't run into bed bugs or mice like some other reviews mention.
