We stopped here overnight on our Christmas trip while passing through. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas, and the lobby and second-floor lounge were clean. The lounge was well stocked, the staff were friendly, and the service was good. Our corner lounge room was upgraded, clean, had a good view, and smelled fresh. The fridge was large and very cold, the bed was comfortable, and the TV worked well with smart features like YouTube. Parking is free, and there's a huge lot. Odessa was quiet while we were there, so I parked right at the front entrance. It's in central Odessa, off Highway 20, with shops nearby. You can drive to Midland for more upscale options. I'd say it's one of the nicest hotels in the area and convenient to the Midland-Odessa metroplex. The bathroom caused problems. The toilet flushed weakly and eventually clogged, so we had to use the nice bathroom on the second floor. That was inconvenient. The mirror light kept flickering, maybe a bad bulb or an electrical issue, and left the bathroom fairly dark. The shower had good hot water and worked well, and the sink was fine. The pool area was lovely, with decorations and plenty of seating, though I wish there'd been a Jacuzzi.

There was something nice to find in every corner, with artwork by local artists all around the beautiful hotel. We enjoyed it all, and they even had Tesla chargers. We did have an upsetting encounter with a distressed employee, but the manager was close by and took care of it right away. Aside from that, we were very pleased with our stay.

The unexpected highlight was meeting Santa in the lobby. Seriously, that made the visit extra fun and memorable. The Odessa Marriott was spotless and beautifully designed, and everyone on staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was comfortable and quiet, just right for relaxing after a long day.

The entrance is oddly small and hard to spot if you're new to the area. From the main entrance it looks like you're heading into the restaurant, and there's little room to park while new guests get their keys and unload luggage. There's no sign pointing hotel guests to park around the corner. That's why I'm giving it four stars instead of five. The hotel itself is great, with clean rooms and hard floors instead of carpet, which I love because of my allergies. Right on point, Marriott!

The food is excellent and the host is always friendly, but the waitress service has been awful. I've had this happen twice with different waitresses, both times with a rude attitude, no attention, and no professionalism. A restaurant with food this good shouldn't have customer service like that. It doesn't feel up to Marriott's level, and I wouldn't return because of it.
