South Platte Cabins & Kennels - Campsite

It feels more like a home than a hotel, and our room was very clean. We dealt with the hotel rather than the owners, and that went smoothly. You're close to the highway but also near the lake. There was a little noise at night. Overall, a 4/5 experience.

We picked this spot because we were traveling with our large dog, and stayed in the cabins on both legs of our trip. They were clean and it's a nice location. You can hear a little freeway traffic at first, but you get used to it.

The little cabins are clean and cozy, and all in all we had a great stay. I was disappointed at check-in to hear that rooms aren't cleaned during extended stays, so for towels we'd have to find the cleaning lady and ask. On the second day, our cabin needed attention, so I asked her if she could just vacuum and restock the towels. She was very nice about it. When she finished, the cabin was spotless and smelled so good. She did an amazing job. We'll definitely be back next year for our family vacation.

We booked and paid through booking.com, but the next morning there was another charge on our credit card for the same room. The front desk somehow couldn't resolve it when I asked. I'm going to dispute the charge, but don't book here, it's a scam.
