There was mold growing on the walls, carpet, and bedding. Half the rooms aren't used anymore because they're in such bad shape. As a paying guest at the river inn, I walked through the parking lot by the unused units on the path to the Ogden river parkway, the city's walking and biking trails. There were no signs or barricades telling people not to go through. The owner of the lot came out with a pistol, said I was trespassing, and threatened to put a hole in my f@***** a** if I wasn't gone in five seconds. I asked what I'd done wrong, but that was his response. I smelled heavy chemicals back there, so I'm guessing he may be using those back rooms to make methamphetamine. That's just a guess, but I think it's a pretty good one, and I think it could explain why he'd pull a gun on paying customers to keep them away. I called the police about the pistol, but I haven't found out if he was arrested yet. I assure you, he will be. I don't recommend anyone ever visit the oven River inn.

The rooms smelled bad and seemed infested, and the other guests made me uneasy. I saw signs of bedbugs but was too scared to sleep in my car, so I ended up on the floor with no pillows and a little blanket from my car. The water was gray, there were no phones in the rooms, and the WiFi was so bad it might as well not have existed. I wouldn't be surprised if the place turned out to be haunted.

Hell on earth. The place is downright horrible. The classifieds lie: there's no pool, gym, or “caffe,” and the kitchen in every room claim isn't true either. There are only about three kitchens, and staff get those rooms. Bedbugs, shady people, a drug dealer's heaven. It should be condemned.

The service was fine, but the door wouldn't open when I first got to my room, and maintenance had to help me get it open. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, and so did the area outside it.
