Two of us were stranded late in a storm, with ice and blizzard conditions, when we called. Bruce took charge of the situation and gave us the best service you could ask for while stuck on the road. He got us into a room with a spectacular, warming view and even offered to buy provisions for us. The location is right by the International Crossing, and I can only imagine how beautiful it is in fall without a blizzard. I fully intend to come back when things are less dire and stay longer at this place on the river with such an out of this world host. Thanks, Bruce, for looking after two wayward women.

It's a quirky place, and some rooms look like they were built by builders with hangovers. Still, it's a great property, and the nice man who runs it will do what he can if you just ask for what you need. It's privately owned.

I loved having morning coffee in the pavilion over the water, watching ducks float past and boats on the river. There are several riverside sitting areas, including that pavilion, and I was in building 5, right on the water. I was only there in the morning and evening, but the location and river view made every minute enjoyable. The inn is just outside Ogdensburg off 37, with the bridge to Canada only a few minutes away. My room was quiet and clean, with a little sitting area, kitchen sink, microwave, and a good-sized fridge. I slept comfortably, and the supplied Keurig pods were a highlight. The staff and housekeeping were friendly, helpful, and not intrusive. I'm looking forward to coming back.

The property is huge and in a great location, but it was very poorly managed. Although the hotel was half empty and we'd asked for a water view, we were given a room with just one window looking onto the parking lot. That didn't feel welcoming. The restaurant had very few choices, just sandwiches and burgers, with no salads or main dishes. Breakfast was unpleasant, especially when we could see a properly equipped kitchen through an open door. The coffee was old, weak, and had a film floating on top. There were only a couple of cereal options and bread in store packaging. They left a long danish in its grocery package with the price tag still on it. Breakfast came on paper plates, and there wasn't even a plastic knife. We tried cutting the danish with serving tongs while staff watched. In the end, we finished breakfast in our room with our own fruit and Greek yogurt. This could be a nice place in caring hands, but we will not return or recommend it to friends.

I've come back about ten times over the past 20 years, staying alone, with family, and with friends. I love the cozy rooms, the cute little townhouses with amenities when I have guests, the dog-friendly rooms, and the beautiful grounds. It's always felt clean and up to date, and I've felt well cared for. I also stayed here for work a couple of times and got to use the lobby computer and printer for a few last-minute things. I really appreciated that!
