Days Inn by Wyndham Harriman

[edit: I just learned there was new ownership in the last month, so maybe disregard earlier reviews… ;)] I’m pretty particular about hotel rooms and usually bring my own bedding, but the room and bed felt very clean. The white bedding looks like it’s bleached regularly, and I didn’t feel I needed my own. The tub was deep enough for a decent bath, with amazing hot water. I had a sensitivity issue with my first room, probably something most people wouldn’t notice, and the staff quickly moved me to a room that worked. The staff were amazing. Kathy was especially sweet through a couple of my ditzy moments. The three people who checked me in and helped sort everything out were efficient, kind, and helpful. I felt safe and well looked after traveling solo, and I really loved the bed. As someone who’s discerning about customer service, I was delighted and would absolutely stay again. Many thanks!

The rooms were just okay, nothing special. Breakfast was a letdown. At about 9:30 on the first day I was told it had already ended. I tried again at 9 the next morning, but there were only a few things left, basically cereal and packaged donuts. My son went down after me and was turned away, too, and told breakfast was done. It’s not a terrible hotel, but after this experience I wouldn’t stay again.

The woman at the front desk was kind and helpful, but the rest of the stay was very disappointing. We had to change rooms twice before finding one that was barely acceptable. The first room had an unmistakable odor as soon as we opened the door. The beds were dirty and the sheets clearly hadn’t been changed since the previous guests. The bathrooms were filthy, with nasty toilets, mold around the shower drains, and the worst stains I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Water pressure was horrible, and there were piles of dirt swept into the corners. I know it costs less than some other places, but this was unacceptable. We’ll never come back.

I couldn’t stay here. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, but the room was completely unacceptable. It smelled strongly of bug spray, which was unsettling. When I first checked the bed, I found hair, stains, and bugs that I thought might be ticks. The sheets clearly hadn’t been cleaned, so I asked for fresh ones and the receptionist gave me replacements. Once I pulled the bedding back, there were even more bugs, dirt, and hair on the mattress and floor. The room was filthy and infested with bedbugs.
