Hilton Garden Inn Clackamas Portland

The fitness center was the highlight of our stay. It was huge, with lots of new, quality equipment, including a Peloton with guest access to classes. We had it to ourselves on a weekend morning, and it was the best hotel gym we’ve used outside a commercial one. Staff were consistently friendly, and the rooms were good, just as expected. We were there while the hotel was being renovated and converted to a Garden Inn, so there was plenty of construction noise and debris.

After physical therapy, I needed a quiet night to rest and take care of myself. My dear friend, who works at another location, helped me book a room at this remodeled hotel. I feel lucky to have such wonderful friends in the service industry. Thank you 😊 🙏

The bright, beautiful lobby was a great place to relax or get some work done, and the whole property had an upscale feel. My renovated room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with a fresh, modern look. The staff were friendly and professional. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Night three, my last night here, and once again a group of teen or young adult athletes is partying in the hallway outside my room at 10:30 p.m. I’ve called the front desk again, and so have other guests. I put a towel at the door and have earplugs, but nobody seems willing to deal with it. The room has other problems too. I could hear road noise and it was cold with the heat on, then I noticed the window wasn’t shut properly. The bathroom is tiny and cramped, the door is hard to open or close, and the toilet is so close to the wall it’s almost unusable. When I first checked in to the newly renovated section, I found the door wouldn’t lock. You could push it open, and the handle didn’t line up with the lock. I’d just traveled about 20 hours from Pennsylvania and couldn’t go to bed because the room didn’t feel safe. No similar rooms were available. They offered an accessible room, and when I asked for some compensation, I was offered a discount coupon for the restaurant downstairs. Poor customer service. At 10 p.m., maintenance was sawing and sanding to try to fix the door while people were trying to sleep. They eventually got it to close, but the deadbolt still didn’t work. They didn’t seem to care. I’ll never stay here again and recommend finding another hotel.
