Abalonia Inn

We slept so comfortably here, and our room even had two porches where we could sit every day. The gentlemen who run the Inn were so kind and wonderful, and they put out ice and snacks each day. The location is right in the middle of everything, so we parked once and walked everywhere.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are comfortable with lovely furnishings. You can walk to downtown shops, the beach, Marginal Way, and lots of good restaurants. The Patio is right next door, too. Such a great place and a perfect location.

I've been staying at Abalonia for more than 10 years, but this was a very upsetting experience. I booked a four-day getaway at the beginning of October and then learned there were new owners. The day before check-in, a family emergency came up and I had to take my husband to the hospital. I ended up there for five days and couldn't make the trip. I tried several times to explain the situation by email and phone, but no one got back to me. I left many voicemails and emails. When employees did answer, they said the manager was off and they didn't know when he'd return. As of October 16, 2025, neither the manager nor the owners had contacted me. All I asked for was a credit, since I would certainly have returned as soon as I could. I'm very, very disappointed. I always chose Abalonia when I visited Ogunquit, but I won't again. The customer service was very bad. It's a shame.

The rooms have been clean and the service prompt and friendly every time I've stayed here. It's a great location, and I've visited multiple times. I heard they now own a bunch of other inns in town, so maybe they've been bought out. That usually marks the end of a good thing, but we'll see with time.
