Really upsetting experience. I booked two queen beds at aspinquid in March for an August stay. Then, two days before we were due to arrive, I got an email saying our reservation was for Betty Doon. That wasn't what I'd booked, and it felt like a bait and switch. On top of that, the beds were full-size. I wouldn't recommend it.

The location is great, the parking was good, and the office staff at the Aspinquid were nice. We also liked the pool there. But it felt like we'd been duped: booking made it seem like the place was Aspinquid Resort, and we later realized it was actually the motel down the street. The room was dated but clean, and the bed was comfortable. At night, the outside lights shine right into the room, making it hard to sleep. The blinds were broken, so there wasn't much privacy.

The staff at this motel were very friendly and accommodating, but that's where the good part ends. We stayed in room 9, a family suite, and it needs a lot of work. There was a stain about four feet wide on the ceiling, the carpet was very old, the beds weren't plush or luxurious, and the air conditioner was covered in rust. A dehumidifier ran almost constantly in the room. If the owners updated the place to match the staff's personalities, it could be a 10. Right now, it's nowhere near that.

The room was small, but that didn't bother us since we spent most of our time out. The place has an older style and charm, but it's very clean and quiet, and the keepers are super friendly and accommodating. It's less than a five-minute walk from the beach and one minute from all the activity on Main St. A great spot for a few nights!

We wanted a last-minute one-night trip somewhere new, with time outdoors and some good seafood for our 34th anniversary. We loved Ogunquit, and this motel suited us because it was downtown and low-cost. It was also one of the few places still available when we booked. We left the car in the free lot at check-in and didn't move it until a couple of hours after checkout. We walked to the shops and restaurants, the beach, Marginal Way, and Perkins Cove. We barely spent any time inside. The location, free off-street parking, and courteous front desk staff were what worked for us. There's not much else to offer. If you want luxury, ambiance, tasteful decor, a good mattress, food on-site, an elevator, a good TV, nice views, good lighting, accessible outlets, strong shower pressure, or other amenities, you may want to look elsewhere. I can't say I'd recommend it to a friend, but we would probably stay again.
