Days Inn by Wyndham Oil City Conference Center

After our home caught fire on 6/11/16, the hotel staff were, and still are, awesome. They've been helpful, easy to get along with, and willing to work with us. When I asked because I needed to sleep, they replaced our broken mini fridge within a few hours. I can't say enough good things about the hotel.

For what this hotel costs, it's a great value. The rooms have been upgraded nicely, including the shower and bath area, and I really can't complain. I looked through the travel sites carefully while planning a trip to see a friend, and this was the closest option I found. There was a Holiday Inn about 5 miles away, but I thought its price was steep, and it didn't look busy when I drove past. The outside isn't like that newer Holiday Inn, but anyone looking for a hotel should consider this one.

We didn't feel safe enough to stay, so after asking downstairs for a refund, we went to stay with relatives. My friend and I were handed a key, but the first room was occupied, with all the guests' belongings inside. We got another key and found people in that room too. We felt awful walking in, and the whole thing was bizarre. There was a crime scene as well. In the elevator, we also came across someone we think was a cleaning guy. We apologized and said we'd move out of his way, and he replied, “Oh trust me I’m sorry for a lot more than that”. It felt creepy. They were clearly giving keys out to anyone. Something needs to be done about how unsafe this place is.

From our room on the river side, we had a great view of the fireworks, the band in the park band shell, and the Allegheny river beside the park. We were in town for a family reunion during Oil City Heritage Weekend. The room was clean and updated, and it looked out over the clean pool and Justus Park, right next to the hotel property. The hotel's being renovated, so I'd recommend asking for one of the newly remodeled rooms.
