Caravan Outpost

The lush setting is lovely, and with its older units this seems like a good place to try RV life for the first time. You’re in tight quarters, which takes some getting used to, and all the communication is by email or text since there’s no on-site office. We had a couple of very cold nights. The heater was so noisy the first night that I couldn’t sleep, and the space heater I used the second night didn’t really do the trick. It was just plain cold.

There’s a newly paved path for walking and biking right beside the Outpost, and you can easily reach the center of town from different spots along it. Downtown Ojai is also within walking distance. The grounds are perfectly landscaped, and the staff were helpful and available even when they weren’t on site. We were comfortable in the deluxe caravan as two adults, but if you’re after spacious accommodations, this isn’t the place. It was a fabulous glamping stay, and I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

There are about nine Airstreams on the property, but each one feels private. I liked relaxing at the scattered outdoor tables, and they also have a corn hole game, bike rentals, and a big wagon for hauling luggage. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. And the sheets were the softest, most inviting ones I’ve slept on. I wish I’d found out the brand! It’s a fun off-grid place to stay.

The Airstream was very clean and had everything described, and the grounds are beautiful. It was also handy to have extra restrooms and showers. Staying at the Caravans in Ojai was a lot of fun, and we’ll definitely be back.
