Travelers Inn

At $99 a night, this room was nowhere near worth it. I wouldn’t normally pay $1 to stay there. The whole place felt disgusting: the room smelled of tobacco, the sheets and pillows had yellow stains, and the bathroom plumbing was in bad shape, basically falling apart. There was also mold growing on the shower curtain. HORRIBLE!!!

The room smelled like smoke, and other guests made noise through the night. For what we paid, spending a little more for a room at the holiday Inn would have been a better choice.

My mom paid for a week because she needed air conditioning during an emergency. She has renal failure, and the power had gone out at home. When I visited, she was seriously ill because the air had quit, so I politely asked the manager at the office to move her to another room. He turned his back on me without saying anything, called her to ask what her problem was, then called the law and had me ejected from the property. He also called me white trash. Vote this up so people see it.

Mr Andy, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. The motel is dated and they’re working on updates. They still have smoking rooms, which do smell of smoke. The nonsmoking rooms seem to have an antique odor, but not a smoke smell. I’ll stay again if I’m in Okeechobee.
