Comfort Suites Fairgrounds West

The only thing I was unhappy about was the hot tub listing on Expedia. There isn’t one anymore, they cemented it in. Otherwise, the check-in clerk was great. Our first room smelled like someone had smoked pot in it, so she moved us. The second room was very nice, with a comfortable bed and a good shower that had plenty of hot water. The price was very reasonable.

The woman at the front desk was the one nice part of this stay. The room was falling apart, with exposed flooring and ripped carpet everywhere, and it had three doors, including one that led outside. Her boss was nowhere to be found and didn’t help. Comfort Suites customer service wouldn’t help either. I’m leaving now and hoping to get my money back. Please don’t stay here. Update: The general manager is refusing to refund me in retaliation for this review, even though I had a good reason not to stay the night.

I got bitten by bed bugs here. When I went to the office to report it, the first woman was sweet and nice, but the person I spoke to at the desk didn’t check or look at anything. They said someone had been in the room for 10 days and had left that day without complaining. I pointed out that I had four fresh bites, and that if I’d brought the bugs in, I’d have bites everywhere. They just said they’d tell management. Then they refused to refund my money. Check the beds before sleeping here. I’ll never return or use a Comfort Inn again because of how this one treated me.

I’ve stayed in three hotels in one week, and this one was easily the best. I’m a single guy and often pick two-star places, but I hadn’t realized this was rated two stars too. The bed was fine, the room was clean, everything worked, and the shower was decent. The lobby was very nice. I’d recommend it to anyone.
