DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Oklahoma City Airport

The room was decent and the hotel was quiet, but the billing problems really affected our stay. At check-in, my card reader showed approved while the receptionist said it hadn’t gone through. I showed her the pending charge in my bank app, but she asked me to swipe again. The second payment went through, and I was charged twice. Since then, the bank and hotel have each told me to take it up with the other, so it’s been frustrating trying to sort out an issue from their check-in process. Breakfast is also $15 per person for a very basic meal that many hotels include. The room’s bottled water costs $3 each. I misunderstood the sign and thought some were complimentary, which was my mistake.

The rooms were good quality, but the restrictions and prices put a damper on my stay. As someone who likes to save by buying snacks and drinks at local businesses, I was perturbed to find I couldn’t do that here. You have to buy the same things at double the price. It felt like Alcatraz, one way in and one way out, with no commissary. Even the complimentary bottle of water could cost you if you weren’t some kind of rewards valued customer. I’m surprised they didn’t charge me for breathing the air. Travelers who care about value should stay away. I repeat, don’t come here.

The only real perk was the location just off I-40, with several food options nearby. My mom sticks with the DoubleTree brand when she travels, so that’s why we booked this place. It didn’t feel hospitable. Breakfast was $15 per person, and a room temperature, 16.9 oz bottle of water cost $3. The rooms were outdated, and I found stained bedding. They said housekeeping wasn’t available “due to the holiday,” though it was December 21. We did get two free DoubleTree cookies at check-in, but they had nuts. I would’ve preferred complimentary water.

The mini fridge didn’t work, there was black and green mold beside it, and the heater smelled like it was burning, so I had to sleep with the window open. They offered to move me and my teenage daughter to a single bed room, even though I’d booked two beds. I wouldn’t share a bed with her, so we had to stay put. On top of that, my underwear disappeared from the room while we were at the pool and hot tub. My daughter and I searched everywhere several times and couldn’t find it. I reported the missing underwear and the fact that someone had gotten into the room to Kylie at the front desk. When I spoke with the manager, Lidia, she literally laughed at me. Ridiculous and highly unprofessional. This hotel is nasty.
