Nick made early check-in quick and easy, and he’s the nicest front desk associate I’ve ever encountered. He even walked us to the room and checked that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The place was very nice and clean, and his customer service was exceptional. I’d give more than five stars if I could. Thank you, Nick. You deserve a raise for those excellent customer service skills. I was very impressed!

The fourth floor smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, some room doors for our group didn’t have safety locks, and the back entrance didn’t lock at all. There was mold in the bathroom. Every room had white pesticide powder behind the bed, which looked like evidence of a known, ongoing bug problem, and half our rooms had ants and cockroaches. I woke up with bite marks on my face. I guess I was the complimentary breakfast. We filed formal complaints with the Oklahoma City-County Health Department and the Oklahoma State Department of Health, and documented things in photos. Our group tried to work with the manager throughout the stay, but he acted shocked by all of it. Avoid this business unless you want anxiety.

We were made to feel very welcome, thanks to manager Amit and staff member Nick, who were both so accommodating and kind. The room was great, and being treated so warmly meant a lot. The Hawthorn Suites was very clean, and the mattresses were extremely comfortable. We’ll be back!

I was traveling with my disabled mom, which made the room problems harder to deal with. I asked for money back or a full refund, but was told to talk to the manager in the morning, and I couldn’t because I had a conference. At first, the staff member said I couldn’t get a refund because I booked through a third party, so I’m not sure which answer to believe. I booked on Expedia, where the listing said there was a pool. It turned out to be indoors, with no sun. In our first room the TV and phone didn’t work, and only a couple of the lights turned on. They offered another room, but there were ants crawling on the nightstand. Don’t waste your money here, especially if you want to get some sun by the pool.
