Motel 6 Olathe, KS

I don't normally leave reviews and I'm not picky, but this place was disgusting. They advertised $80 a night and charged us $162. There were literal chunks of something like dried mud on the floor, and a one-inch crack in the flooring. The bed cover was stained, had cigarette burns, and didn't look like it had been washed in a long time. The sheets had burn holes too. They looked washed, but, like the towels, were old and dingy. Dark stains ran down the sides of the bed sham, which definitely hadn't been washed. I couldn't sleep, then had a cold shower in the morning. When I politely asked for a discount at checkout and explained the room's condition, they said nothing could be done. I didn't even get an apology. They just said that since we checked in late, we got what was left. Do not stay here. It looks nothing like the online photos.

The front desk guy is honestly the NICEST person you'll ever meet. His parents clearly raised him right! The rooms are basic, sure, but what do you expect for $72? They're clean and cute. I gave the room a 4 because the bright bulbs, at least the ones by the bed in my room, should be swapped for softer ones. There's no pet fee, so please clean up after your pet inside and out if you stay here with one. Don't ruin it for those of us who respect other people's property! In my opinion, this is a great place with super awesome staff.

It's cleaner than most places and well kept, with a few minor problems that don't really affect your recovery after a long day. But the pool is always closed and hasn't been open since 2019. Staff charge for early check-in and a deposit, and sometimes seem to try charging more, which feels like they may be taking advantage. Be careful.

The beds were uncomfortable, the sheets stained, and the noise from next door was so bad it sounded like people were trying to come through the wall. Smoke and marijuana smell filled the hallways and even our non-smoking room. We wedged wet towels by the doors to keep the odor from coming in from the hallway and adjoining room. The elevator was out of order too. When I called ahead, I was told the pool was open, but it was closed when we arrived. We had no other place to go because it was NASCAR weekend and we were in town for a dance competition, so we had to make the best of it. This place should only be considered for an emergency stay when you truly have no other options.
