Red Lion Inn & Suites Olathe Kansas City

I left after only a few minutes, even though I had booked seven nights. The bathroom, tub, and toilet had a lot of stains, and cigarette odor reached the hallways and even the non-smoking room. The front desk helped move me for the night, though the woman seemed bothered, and I was told six nights could be refunded. I had to accept paying for that first night and checked out early the next morning on my way to work, handing my cards to a man at the desk. Two or three days passed with no refund, so I called. The man said I hadn't been marked as checked out and they thought I was still there. I said they could check the cameras to see when I left. He was pleasant and said he'd tell the manager to refund six nights. The money came back, but they still charged me for another night when I wasn't there. When I called again, the man questioned what the person who checked me out looked like, as though he doubted my account. No one has contacted me about it. I've called and emailed, and keep hearing from the front desk that they haven't seen the manager. Mistakes happen, but the communication and accountability have been awful. I hope someone gets back to me soon. This has been really frustrating, and I'd urge anyone considering a stay to be cautious. I'd choose somewhere else.

I've stayed here a few times, and the rooms have always been clean, with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash supplied in the shower or tub. The staff are awesome and will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast is free, but there's no meat in the morning, which is a bit disappointing for me.

The front desk guy was really nice and professional. I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout-out. The rest of the stay was a letdown. My room smelled of cigarettes, the whole place smelled like weed and dope, and there were cigarette ashes in the stairwell. The floor was sticky, and there was stuff on the bathtub and refrigerator. I expected breakfast to be better, but the waffles tasted sour. Maybe I'm wrong, but waffles aren't supposed to taste that way. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I'd personally pay the extra $20 for a cleaner, nicer place.

We only needed one night and picked this place because it was cheap. There was a bed bug on the pillow when we entered the room. We reported it at the desk, returned the key, and went to a much nicer hotel, but they wouldn't refund us.
