Our room looked pleasant and matched the website photos, but the rest of the stay was full of problems. The property has no grounds of its own and backs up to a large chain hotel. It is run by that chain, and not well. Breakfast never showed up in the mornings, and the cheese plate was left out for more than 12 hours each day. After 23 hours, we threw one out so nobody would get sick. A nail sticking out of the floorboards impaled both of us. The Jacuzzi tub didn't work, and its dials fell off when moved. The ice machine was broken, so getting ice meant walking all the way to the main hotel lobby. Had everything advertised been provided, it would've been a great deal, but at this price I would've gone elsewhere. I handed in a long list of complaints at checkout and gave them weeks to respond before writing this. I'm still waiting to hear from them.

Our anniversary weekend was just perfect. We stayed in Benjamin's Hall Chamber, and it was beautiful, full of old character with uneven wooden floors, candle sconces on the walls, a four-poster canopy bed, and a gorgeous fireplace that we lit each night. It also had modern touches, including a flat-screen TV and a jacuzzi tub.

I wouldn't stay here unless the room were comped. The bed works if you're into futons and pullout couches. They have lids for to-go coffee cups, if that's what you need. Bring your own duralogs, and don't expect the complimentary wine you pay for to show up. The guests were fine, but the place felt like a shady Motel 6 by accident. Bring Claritin for the historic dust. The burgundy curtains looked gray with dust on them. There was no “Do not disturb” sign, and there was no housekeeping either.

Avoid this place. The photos felt like a bait and switch. It was a derelict building in the parking lot of a long-term-stay hotel, more like an extension of the Marriot than a proper inn. The rooms were shabby and looked years past needing maintenance. We arrived in December to snow that hadn't been shoveled and a cold room with no blankets. The pictures don't convey how sad and dingy it feels. Don't waste your time.

We didn't stay overnight because the place felt kind of creepy. The Marriott let us switch to the main hotel, and they handled it very professionally.
