They charged my card twice for more than the prices I was supposed to pay. The sunglasses were marked 14.99 but I was charged 16.99. Other personal items were supposed to cost 21.99, and the total came to 45.73. Extremely unprofessional. DO NOT GO HERE.

The one good thing was being close to the beach and places to eat. Everything else made this stay awful. The sheets were disgusting, and the fitted one slipped off to expose a discolored mattress with no cover. The shower towels were thin and gross, and there were no hand towels in either the kitchen or bathroom. There was no A/C in the main living areas. The broken screen door let flies in if left open, so we couldn't get fresh air inside. Parking cost $30 per car per night, and they only mentioned that when we arrived. The kitchen garbage piled up because there were no disposal instructions, and the only two bins under the stairs were full. We put the bagged trash in a corner, but the Airbnb host called us messy and said he should have charged us. He also complained we hadn't brought these issues up during the stay. It didn't seem worth it. Was he going to go buy everything we needed? He doesn't seem to care about the many complaints from past guests. Reviews from two years ago describe the same problems, so they clearly haven't improved things and just want to collect money while offering the bare minimum. I wish I'd read the low-rated reviews before booking. The host didn't like my review and replied with negative, untrue comments, then got defensive. And to be clear, I'm not just upset about the parking fee. That was annoying, but the rest of what I wrote was true. Why would I make that stuff up? These rooms need a lot of work, and the host doesn't care.

The WiFi barely worked the whole time, and it cut out as soon as we stepped onto the patio. Parking was awkward too: spots were marked with numbers spray-painted on a fence, and some people took two because the spaces seem barely wide enough for a Mini Cooper. The charge situation was another mess. I was billed multiple times, including $300 for incidentals before check-in, and American Express flagged the payments as fraud. My mother-in-law arrived first and paid the balance with her card, but they overcharged her and added 4% non-cash fees even though the booking site said fees were included. The stairs were unsafe, especially with green turf on them. It rained most days and they got slick. The listing only mentioned stairs under facilities after clicking “more”; it said upper floors were accessible only by stairs, but not that all apartments could only be reached that way. I had my in-laws with me, including one person who uses a cane and takes 10 minutes to go up and down. This place isn't handicap accessible. There was a kitchen, but it wasn't really set up for cooking. The stove was covered in foil and one burner wasn't fitted properly. The kitchenette had only a working fridge, a dirty coffee maker, and utensils left by previous guests. There were no dishes or paper towels. The bathroom listing said toiletries were provided, but there was only a shower dispenser with Ajax dish soap (we smelled it and tried it, then compared it with the Ajax dish soap in the kitchen) and hand soap with what looked like another Ajax cap replacing the pump. The bedrooms smelled like mildew. The sheets were linty and falling apart, and barely covered the yellow-brown mattress, so we bought our own at Walmart. Our feet stuck to the carpet, presumably because it hadn't been cleaned, so we bought slippers too. The bathroom reeked of urine, the toilet hadn't been cleaned, and fecal particles were visible under the seat. The towels were nearly see-through and falling apart, and left black lint all over us. I had to buy towels because the ones provided were so poor, and because the owner refused to give my mother-in-law and me any more. Apparently one towel per person was enough for all four days. The place was barely cleaned. My husband and I have 26+ years of combined service in the army, but we felt dirtier after showering and sleeping here than we did in the field without showers. I used disinfectant wipes on the doorknobs, light switches, and other high-touch spots, and they turned brown right away. Disgusting. At least it was close to the beach and a bagel/coffee spot.

This is about the store attached to the hotel, which I assume is run by the same people and appears in the photos. I can't speak to the hotel itself. The seller said there were no changing rooms, but I could return anything that didn't fit. A non-lifeguard bathing suit had a $29.99 tag, and a wall sign said “everything 50% off except Heineken and Lifeguard suits.” I also picked up a $49.99 Lifeguard suit. They charged $106.60, which should have alerted me, but I was reassured I could return them if they didn't fit. They didn't, so I came back an hour later, only to find the store closed at 2:30 PM. When I returned the next day, the man said there were no refunds, only exchanges. I couldn't find much, but didn't want to waste all that money, so I pieced together a full suit, a lone bottom without a top, and a cheap jacket with its label sewn upside down. He claimed the original charge “been a deal” for the two falling-apart sweatshop suits from China, then said I owed him another $35. I got so confused and exasperated by how he was trying to gaslight me about the price that I walked out with nothing. They kept half my paycheck, which I'd meant to spend on a nice time with my mom, whom I only see once a year. I feel dumb for getting scammed so badly, but hope this helps someone else avoid it. The clothes are cheap, and the sellers deliberately confuse you until your measly wages are gone. I guess it's my fault for falling for it. Be safe out there. Afterward I read the other store reviews and wish I'd seen them first. They're all on point 😂. This place literally steals money from people, and they aren't even hiding it. If you review the hotel, they yell at you or say there's no record of you. If you write about the thievery, they don't respond because they know it's true. Why has no one looked into this place yet?
