Waves Oceanfront Resort

I enjoyed having breakfast and reading on the balcony, and the location right on the beach is perfect. The pool is really nice, the cleaning crew was wonderful, and the front desk staff were helpful and pleasant in person. We were in room 108, though, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything. The kitchenette could use an update. I'm unsure about staying again, but maybe another room would be better.

My family and I had a phenomenal time last year. The kitchen area was a highlight, and the beach was only a few steps away.

The location right on the beach is chef's kiss, and the rooms are fantastic, many with amazing balconies. Everything was great except the TVs, which are the only reason I'd give the rooms 4 out of 5. Service was great too: we tried to check in two hours early and couldn't, but about five seconds down the road they called to say our room was ready. This is the hotel to go to in old orchard beach.

That ocean view is beautiful, and the beach isn't too far on foot. But the rooms were absolutely disgusting. I know the place is older, but the pillow I slept on had blood on the back and I'm pretty sure it hadn't been cleaned. My siblings were in room 409 and said the door didn't work. When they asked for a fix, they were told, "oh well, we cant thats a fire hazard," even though the door in my room, 410, worked fine. The first lock on my door had mold and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, and I'm pretty sure there were bugs in my bed. The bathroom was disgusting too, with a rusted toilet seat, hooks, and towel racks. The pool was filthy, and there were bugs in the hot tub. Also, if you're a person of color, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The locals stare you down like you're a statue in the metropolitan museum of art. Other than that, great view.
