This is a quiet motel with a relaxed beach feel. It’s an older property, but extremely clean and well maintained. Open the door and the beach is right there. Walk 25 feet, okay, maybe 40, through the beach grass and you’re on the sand. Cheryl and Mike were friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely return.

A quiet spot right on the beach, with polite, knowledgeable employees. English and French are spoken. There are lots of food places and gift shops just minutes away on foot, and it’s a half-mile beach walk to the pier. We’ll be back!

The kids made use of the extra beach toys and chairs, and we appreciated having a kitchenette and an outdoor grill if we wanted to cook. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The beach is right outside, with a quick walk to the pier and restaurants. Amazing location. We’ll definitely come back.

The carpet is the one thing I’d change. If they removed it, the rooms would be perfect. The staff are terrific, and it’s nice seeing a family work so well together. There’s convenient parking, a lovely deck, and a boardwalk down to the beach. Everything else about the place is wonderful. I highly recommend it and know we’ll be back many times.

The Sandpiper is a great base for exploring Maine’s interior and its fall colors. We’re already planning a week there in the fall, and we absolutely will return. The beach was amazing, though chilly at 68 degrees. At low tide, there were 100 yards of flat, beautiful sand for walking or playing with little ones, and the Pier area with all its activity was a short 10-minute walk away. After spending the morning on the beach, we came back to find Micheal had left fresh flowers in a vase, two glasses, champagne, and a card wishing my wife a happy birthday. Cheryl at the front desk had overheard me mention it and told Micheal. Who does that? A special thank you for such a thoughtful surprise. The Inn was spotless, thanks to Stephan, a respectful, helpful, friendly young man who was a joy to chat with. Thank you, Stephan, and thanks to Cheryl for keeping the shared bathrooms clean and stocked. We were a little unsure about having common bathrooms for each floor, but there are two full bathrooms per floor, they were immaculately cleaned, and we never had to wait. Don’t let shared bathrooms put you off. The rooms feel warm and welcoming, and the downstairs common area feels like stepping back in time, with restored furniture and decor. Micheal said a lot of the furniture is original from the 40s and restored by local craftsmen. He also restored the Inn using its original hardware and trim, which is special. Each room has a pedestal sink and mirror for getting ready in the morning. Our room had everything we needed. I want to thank Micheal, Cheryl, Stephan, and the whole staff. My wife and I drove the Mustang north from western Mass with no reservations or particular destination in mind, just wanting to be at the beach. After what felt like a God-wink, my wife called The Sandpiper and spoke with Cheryl. They’d had a last-minute cancellation for the week we wanted. Micheal, the hands-on owner, explained that our room was in the separate Rebekah Inn, which has been in his family for many decades. It was the room where he spent every summer as a child, facing the beach. Be well and God bless. See you soon.
