We stayed at the Edgewater on a cool October day. The office looked lovely, with fall flowers around the doors, and the staff kindly arranged a very early check-in. Most places in Orchard Beach were closed for the season, which makes sense for a beach town, so we drove to Portland and had some amazing seafood near the piers. The oceanfront view from our cute room was spectacular. We picked up wine and snacks, spent some of the evening on the deck and the rest inside by the little fireplace with the window open, watching the sunset over the waves. The beach was easy to reach, and the waves stayed gentle even the day after a nor’easter. At low tide we went for a windy walk across the enormous beach, which had lots of shells, hermit crabs, and clams. The room had a mini-fridge, plates, wine glasses, cups, and utensils, which was really nice. The bed was very comfortable, and the large bathroom had a spa tub and walk-in shower. I’d love to come back to the same room in summer, since the beach and pool so close to the boardwalk and main street would make for a fabulous stay.

You can’t get much closer to the beach than this. We had a very pleasant stay at The Edgewater, with friendly staff and grounds that were exceptionally well kept and clean. Our room was comfortable and spotless, and even nicer than the photos online. If we’re back in the area, this is the first place I’ll try to book. Thanks for making the stay so pleasant!

We’ve stayed here about 10 times over the past few years and have always had a good experience. I recently had to cancel a couple of reservations because of a family emergency, and assistant manager Heather Rice was really helpful sorting out a credit card issue. She probably deserves a promotion. Best hotel in Old Orchard Beach.

There’s a real charm to this place, and the service is great. The rooms are clean and well cared for, and having a small microwave and fridge makes it easy to settle in and feel at home. The pool gets cleaned every morning, and the flowers and potted plants are tended to carefully each day. Get your coffee early and have it on the upstairs sun deck. It’ll change your life.

I had a very good weekend here with my daughter. The room was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a nearby train, though, and when it blows its horn at night it can be a bit much. It’s not the hotel’s fault, but I wanted to mention it.
