The room was clean, and Monica was very responsive, but the whole setup was disappointing. There's no breakfast, and it felt like a glorified Airbnb with no real host except by email. The former French cuisine and bakery had apparently been pushed out because the landlord wanted to sell. There's a lot of history here, so that was a real letdown. They gave us a $30 voucher, and luckily the nearby diner/cafe was great, with good food and super staff. It's an easy walk. The owner left a very cheap Keurig coffee maker, which got us by; if you need more coffee supplies, you have to message them. Bring an eye mask, since light comes through the blinds at dawn. I hope someone invests in the place and keeps its history alive, it deserves that respect.

The location is terrific, close to central Old Saybrook and an easy walk into town. Our renovated room was spacious and very clean, with a gas fireplace, four poster bed, comfortable seating, and a roomy bathroom. We also appreciated getting a daily gift certificate for breakfast at Mirsina's. A really outstanding stay.

I took my mom for a couple of days away and we both loved staying here. The room was bright and very clean, and we were close to everything. We spent some time with wine and cheese in the quiet backyard, too. We'll come back.

We stayed in the Katherine Hepburn room this weekend, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room is cute, and the linens, furniture, showerhead, and everything else felt high quality. The staff, owner, and innkeeper were all delightful. We've tried a few B&Bs this year, and this is easily our favorite. My fiance loved the whole leaf tea selection, while I went for the coffee. We'll definitely return.
