The property is lovely and the rooms are basic, small, and clean enough, but the stay felt poorly supported. We heard a steady beep for part of the first night and day; it eventually stopped. We were short on shampoo and toilet paper, and calls to the main line went unanswered. There were after-hours numbers for the owners, but they seemed far away, and it felt awkward to contact them for something as simple as toilet paper. Guests shouldn't have to call three different numbers to get basic help. The check-in was the worst part. We arrived at night and found no one there, no phone or internet access, and password-protected Wi-Fi by the rooms. My wife felt unwell, it was getting cold, and I was searching under doormats for a key while panicking. We eventually found open Wi-Fi by the front parking lot. The hotel didn't answer, and our messages and calls had given us no warning. I started preparing to drive half an hour in the dark to another hotel. Then a man came out and flagged us down. He wasn't meant to handle check-ins, but he was the only company person on site. He said there had been some mistake with their email or something, though that explanation didn't feel convincing. He couldn't find my room key and left me waiting 5-10 minutes while he looked. We finally got checked in after a terrible start. We had been told the facilities would be closed, so we knew that already. But we were also told we'd get check-in instructions, and those never came. No one contacted us about the bad check-in before we posted this review either. That left us feeling like an afterthought and unwelcome to contact the owners directly. It shouldn't be on guests to chase down simple things. The area is beautiful, and the room itself was simple. We appreciate the apology and the extra toiletries sent afterward. Still, it seems wrong to take guests' money with nobody available for the small and medium problems that come up. I'd look elsewhere unless you're staying on a weekend when the Brewery is staffed. Updated to three stars.

The room had a nice amount of space, though it could use a microwave. I'd bring instant coffee, since the in-room brew tasted like weak black water. The sheets were rough, and the rooms could use more attention. If you get a room with a connecting door, you can hear your neighbors. The person who checked us in was good at talking, but not much of a listener.

We had a lovely weekend with my wonderful siblings, with beautiful views and hikes not far away. I’m definitely bringing my husband and kids next time.

The rooms were very clean, the staff accommodating, and the area quiet. My only real complaints were that the beds felt too firm and a bit shaky. Be prepared for possibly having no cell service, depending on your provider, and unreliable Wi-Fi. The cable selection is a nice perk, especially Me TV Toons, which isn't available nationwide. If you know what to expect, the accommodations are more than adequate.

The room was plain but just right, and the grounds are beautifully kept, with a lot of lawn and a creek out back. It's neat, very clean, and wonderfully quiet. The roads are nice for walking, and the owners are friendly. You can tell a lot of care goes into the place. We'll come back to visit the cafe and brewery.
