We loved our short trip to Slide Mountain Forest House, and my three-year-old son had a great time too. A creek runs through the property, which made it even more charming for all of us. There are swings, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, and other outdoor places to have fun. The pool was great, though the water was a little cold. Rooms and amenities were spotless and well maintained, and everyone was extremely nice. Breakfast was delicious. There’s no cell signal, but Wi-Fi in every building meant we had no trouble, and my husband was even able to get some work done. The nearest town we found was Phoenicia, with cute little shops, a small grocery store, and activities like the rail explorers. It was a fantastic, relaxing place to enjoy the mountains, well worth the money. We can’t wait to come back soon.

We had a room with a balcony and a nice view. The location is very nice, with Giant ledge and Slide Mountain trails close by. The rooms are rustic. There’s a restaurant, but we couldn’t try it because it closes at 8.30pm.

We just spent three days enjoying the property and had another perfect stay at Slide Mountain Forest House. The food, accommodations, and service were all wonderful.

We picked Slide Mountain Forest House for my daughter’s wedding weekend because it was reasonably priced and close to Full Moon Resort, where the wedding was. It cost a lot less than Full Moon and was competitive with other Catskills inns. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the owner/manager was available whenever needed. Both days, our server was pleasant and accommodating. The place was neat and clean, and breakfast was offered. The restaurant had been closed for later meals because of Covid-related staffing issues, but the food we did get was good, properly cooked, served at the right temperature, and came fairly quickly. There was a lot to choose from on the menu, more than at many bed and breakfasts. I’d recommend it as a good, no-frills base for exploring the area if you’re self-sufficient. I’d stay again.
