It's centrally located in the heart of Lacey, close to the freeway and stores. My room was clean and spacious, with a small kitchen area, and the staff were very attentive. I was happy with my stay. They have a varied clientele, and I appreciate that they help less fortunate people through different programs. This may not suit families with small children since there's no pool and large dogs are allowed, but it works well for people with service animals or business travelers who want to get in and out quickly.

Apart from the front desk staff, this stay turned into a disaster. The women at the desk were wonderful when we arrived, and one told me the person who booked the reservation had put us in an ADA room without a refrigerator. She offered to lower the rate to $70. But when we got to room 217, it hadn't been cleaned at all. We even found the previous guest's keys on the dresser. We took photos and were moved to room 324, which seemed fine for about an hour before the smell of weed smoke became noticeable. Weed may be legal in Washington state, but people should still smoke outside. I'm a cigarette smoker and would never smoke indoors. Then, when I went to order food, I saw a $180 pending charge on my card, not $70. Even with a deposit, that's a lot. We were in town to visit family, and I'd picked Wood Springs Suites in Lacey because it seemed like a good deal. I'd never stayed there before. Be careful if you choose to stay.

It's an extended stay hotel, and people live here with their dogs. I've been here more than a week, and my only problem has been the batteries in my door lock needing replacement. Compared with a few other extended stays I've used around here and in Vegas, this place has secure access to the elevator, an elevator, and cameras everywhere. What are people expecting?

The access rules also made the hotel feel unsafe. You need a card to get past the lobby, you're warned not to hold the door for anyone behind you or face a fee, and signs suggest guests used to be able to enter from other doors, but now you can't. I booked a kitchenette room, but there were no cooking utensils, dishes, or even dish soap. A sign said those items had to be purchased. The pet fee was presented as $10 per night, then came with a $50 “non-refundable deposit.” That's not really a deposit if it can't be refunded. Why not just say the first night costs $50? That's excessive when the usual pet fee at any hotel, even four-star places, is $25 per night. They were stingy with toiletries too: one small shampoo for two people, no conditioner or body wash, unless the bar of soap counts, and no hand towels. I felt unwelcome, like every little thing came with an extra charge. I'll never stay here again.

I paid full price and never asked for a discount, so why would I lie about being bitten? After a week here with one problem after another, I ended up with bites all over my legs and arms. I've never had bedbugs before. When I told the front desk, the manager treated me like I was making it up. I asked to move rooms so I could finish my stay, but the manager refused with an attitude. The rooms were nasty, and the whole experience was horrible.
