I feel at ease here in a way I usually don’t at hotels. The staff are friendly, welcoming, easy to talk to, and happy to help. LYNNE at the front desk is especially cheerful and fantastic. My room was clean, and the heater REALLY works. The place feels safe, has good parking, and is in a great location. They seem to be updating the rooms and replacing furniture, with a dumpster outside. Breakfast has waffles and other continental options, good enough for me. I’m impressed compared with many other hotel stays. This will be my Omaha home base!

The staff were very nice, but for what I paid, the room was a shock. There was a broken bathroom light cover hanging down, a hole in the balcony screen that looked punched through, red stains on the carpet, and chunks missing from the room door as if someone had tried to kick it in. The lobby seemed nice until I looked up and saw water stains all over the ceiling.

The stay left me feeling dirty. At least I didn’t find bed bugs or roaches, but I would not recommend this hotel. In room 330, the King Sweet, the wallpaper was peeling, ceiling paint was coming off, and most of the lights didn’t work. The bedroom TV was broken too. There were “No Smoking” signs everywhere, yet the carpet had cigarette burns all over it, along with other stains, and the curtains had water marks.

Breakfast was cleared away an hour early, so don’t count on getting anything at 8:30 as you head out. There was a room across the hall that looked like police had raided it, and it smelled of smoke. Black hair was stuck to the mattress protector, and a chunky orange substance was behind the sink and on the wrapped bar of soap. The tub was taped up, and the drain came off underfoot. The microwave wasn’t plugged in, and there wasn’t even an outlet for it there. We moved to the Quality Inn near the airport for our last night. It cost about the same but was much better across the board. If you like sleeping in a homeless shelter, being in grime, and dealing with unpleasant, incompetent employees, come on down. Otherwise, spend a few extra bucks a night for a better hotel.
