DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown

The bar and lounge was a nice gathering spot for our larger group, where we could have drinks and play games. We didn't try the other hotel facilities, so I can't comment on them. The location worked well too: CHI Health Center and Old Market were walkable over mostly flat, easy ground, with restaurants, bars, shopping, and the Saturday market nearby. We were nervous after reading some reviews, but the front desk staff were welcoming throughout our stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, though the pillows weren't my favorite. The rooms are dated, and the ventilation and AC need work. At first there was a musty, closed-up smell, but it mostly faded after running the AC. The elevators worked well enough, with no long waits. Parking is attached to the hotel and lets you come and go, which was convenient, though the garage is very tight for both height and parking space. For a quick 1-2 night visit, I'd consider staying again. If nearby hotels cost about the same, I would probably pay a little extra for a newer place, closer to the restaurants and bars, with more updated amenities. Still, I wouldn't rule this one out for a short stay.

Michelle was so sweet, like the chocolate chip cookie we got when we arrived. She held our luggage and extended checkout because we had a late flight. I came for graduation and was worried about how check-in, flights, and the weather would work out, but the staff were really accommodating and helped with all of it. I loved staying here, would definitely recommend the hotel, and want to come back to Omaha.

The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful, and the hospitality was great. Our rooms were clean, with room service daily or every other day, so kudos to the cleaning staff. Jon was a fun, friendly bartender, and the bar food was great, with lots of choices. This Double Tree was a great stay, only 4 miles from the baseball stadium.

The room had several problems. The shower was dirty, visibly moldy, and drained very poorly. We had no hot water for a whole day, just freezing cold water, and the loose toilet seat kept shifting whenever we used it. The pool seemed neglected, with a bad smell, a dirty-looking bottom, and a slimy film on the surface. There isn't a jacuzzi or hot tub, and the gym is extremely small with very little equipment. The hotel feels outdated and poorly maintained, with not much in the way of amenities or comfort. The Wi-Fi was another letdown: the free option barely worked, and usable service cost $5 a day. In 2026, I've never stayed somewhere that charged extra for decent internet. It wouldn't work well for remote workers or business travelers who need a reliable connection. This was a recent stay, and overall it wasn't good or worth the visit.
