The event space was beautifully set up and ready for us, and the bar had pool, darts, and giant Jenga to keep everyone busy. We celebrated a surprise 30th birthday there, and the Eddy's staff were kind and attentive. Brian handled every detail and went above and beyond to make the surprise work. Our catered food was the one snag: the wing sauces were meant to be served on the side for someone with celiac, but they weren't. Nice job overall, Eddy's staff!

We found plenty to do around Lake Mille Lacs in both summer and winter, from swimming, boating, fishing, and relaxing to snowmobiling right from Eddy's. There are hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails, and many become ATV, UTV, and off-road motorcycle trails in summer. When the ice is safe, rental ice fishing houses are available, and Eddy's staff maintain lake access and about two miles of ice road. You can reach the rest of the lake from there if you're brave, or go by snowmobile. The rooms are comfortable, and every room on the lake-facing side has a patio door with a great view. There are also four cabins for rent, with guest grills on their patios. If you didn't bring your own gear, nearby places rent boats, personal watercraft, ATVs, side-by-sides, and snowmobiles. Eddy's also has some fishing equipment guests can use. For food and drinks, The Launch Bar and Grill serves breakfast when available, plus lunch and dinner. The burgers are incredible, especially the walleye. Grand Casino is nearby, with 1991 Grill and Plumbs for food and some adult gaming if you want a break from the kids. Mille Lacs Kathio State Park isn't far away. It has groomed cross-country ski trails and ski rentals, plus snowshoe trails in snowy years. If you're brave, you can ski on the lake too, or try windsurfing on skis or a board. Great spot for family trips or a group of friends fishing or riding trails. There's something to do at Lake Mille Lacs!

The staff were great, especially at the restaurant, and we liked the food, fair prices, and beer selection. We stayed five nights, but the cabin coffee maker couldn't keep up with six grown men on a fishing trip, so we gave up on it and walked to the lobby for coffee instead. The lobby coffee was only okay. I'd recommend the place, just bring your own coffee maker!

The quiet stay was convenient, with a casino, grocery store, and small movie theater only about a five-minute drive away. At Eddie's resort, the rooms are roomy, clean, and well cared for, and there's plenty of parking for cars and boat trailers. It's right on the lake and has a boat ramp, though launching costs $10. The on-site restaurant has a small menu, but the food is tasty. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
