Portage Lake Motel

We could walk across the street to the beach area they own, and there was a fire pit where we watched the sunset. The whole stay was wonderful. This summer we had such a nice experience here, with rooms that were clean, updated, and really nice. Can't wait to come back.

We were visiting family in the area over Thanksgiving weekend, and the off-season price was great. It was very clean, and the owner kept an eye on anything we might need as the bad weather and days went by. We'll definitely stay again if there's an opening in season, since they fill up quickly.

The private beach right across the street was the best part. There's a lovely private spot to sit and watch the sunset, swim, or put kayaks in, as we did. Andrew, the owner, made us feel at home, almost like family, and had great suggestions for local food and things to see and do. Our room had a lake view and access, was very clean and smelled fresh at check-in. The beds were comfortable, it was quiet, and the room had been recently updated. We also really liked the shared area out front with its gas fire pit and grill. We'll definitely return, and highly recommend staying at Portage Lake Motel!

The hosts were wonderful, and we especially loved the beach area with its patio and pier. Everything about our stay was great: super clean, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. We'll be back!
