Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mansfield – Ontario by IHG

The room was lovely and comfortable, and the heating and AC controls worked well. Breakfast was great too. My only trouble was the plumbing: low water pressure, water that took 30 minutes to warm up but never got hot, and a toilet that sometimes wouldn't flush properly. I'd still stay here again, just hoping the next room doesn't have those problems.

At 3:00 AM, with availability confirmed, the front desk agent still refused to give me a room, saying there might be unhappy housekeeping staff the next day. That put staff convenience ahead of a traveler's needs, which is unacceptable for a hotel meant to serve people around the clock. The agent also said no hotel would take a 3:00 AM check-in. I proved that wrong immediately by getting a room at the Marriott next door without any trouble. Management should address this service failure and make its late-night check-in policy clear. Travelers arriving that late should look for a reliable alternative like the Marriott.

The hallways were cold, with barely any heat, which was surprising in such extreme outdoor cold. Downstairs was warm, so it seemed obvious they were trying to save on the heating bill rather than dealing with a heating problem. The hotel itself was clean, though there weren't many people around to judge it properly.

My company currently has around 40 rooms here, and I've been staying at the hotel for 4 months. It's clean and efficient, and I love it. The staff are great. Management, Tonya and Kaitlyan, are amazing, and the front desk team, Darren and Byron i believe, are amazing too.
