Escapes To The Shores by Resort Stay

The call with staff made a bad situation worse. They talked over me when I was trying to understand what would happen next, then disconnected the call. We’d already tried calling the number in the room and left a message, but nobody called back. I followed up the next morning before we finally reached the office. We stayed at Escapes! Orange Beach, and on arrival the room was in unacceptable shape. The bedding had visible stains, the towels and bath mats were marked and worn, and the bathroom had mould on the ceiling and around the shower. The overall cleanliness was below basic standards. This wasn’t a minor housekeeping miss. My child has severe asthma and my grandchild has a compromised immune system, so mould and unsanitary conditions posed a genuine health risk. The office said they could send housekeeping to replace the sheets and “treat” the mould while we stayed in the room. Dirty-sheet replacement is a basic expectation, not compensation, and treating mould with a toddler still in the space raised further health concerns. Despite our detailed information and photos, the property has refused a refund or to take accountability, describing it as a standard housekeeping issue. That’s not what happened. This was extremely disappointing and not the experience we expected when booking a family stay. I’d strongly encourage management to look at both its cleanliness standards and the way it handles guest concerns.

We could hear the waves from our balcony, and the sunsets from the boardwalk were stunning. The beach was easy to reach, and the location was beautiful and super convenient. The room was exceptionally clean. We only had a partial Gulf view, and the weak wi-fi is the reason I took off a star. It didn’t matter much to us, though I know some people need it. We’ll definitely be back.

Everything was lovely, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. My son even looked at the carpet and said, “Mama, the carpet is so clean.”

We went in September during the week, when it was off season, and the beach was wonderfully quiet, with beautiful white sand. Our 17th-floor condo booked through airbnb had stunning ocean views. The place was super clean, the security staff were very nice and welcoming, and there was both an outdoor infinity pool and a heated indoor pool with a hot tub.
