Holiday Inn Express Orange Beach by IHG

Holly, James, and the housekeeping team went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The staff made the stay excellent. It felt like a family atmosphere in the middle of a tourist area, while still being professional and attentive. We’ll definitely return.

We booked a beachfront room for a weekend, but it was really small and had stains on the carpet and couch, sticky food on the bedside table, and peeling ceiling paint. I’d have been very upset at full price. The free breakfast was good, and the location puts you just steps from the beach. There are better hotels in Gulf shores or orange beach, so I wouldn’t recommend this one.

The lobby and eating area had such cute Valentine’s Day decorations. The staff were welcoming and helpful, everything was clean, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. We’re so glad we picked this hotel and will be back.

We came to Orange Beach for a long weekend after finding a great flight deal, and the Holiday Inn Express was priced just right too. Bonnie at the front desk gave us a really warm welcome, and the kids loved the Halloween decorations in the lobby. We’d booked a first-floor king room with a sofa bed, but when we tried to set it up before dinner, we found the frame tilted badly and was clearly broken. The room was by the elevator, and its patio door opened onto an unfenced area facing an empty lot. It didn’t feel unsafe, just a little exposed. We usually don’t ask to switch rooms, but with three nights ahead of us, we asked. Bonnie was wonderful and moved us to the fourth floor, to a room with two queen beds. The kids got over losing the sofa bed quickly. Upstairs felt much cleaner, brighter, and more comfortable. We appreciated seeing that the first room was closed for maintenance right away. After that, everything was great. Breakfast had lots of choices and was delicious every morning. The views were incredible, beach access was easy, and the hotel was close to everything. My kids seemed to be the only ones in the pool day and night, and they swam in the ocean too. Staff and other guests were friendly, and we had nice chats with several snowbirds who return every year. We had an amazing time despite the initial hiccup. Bonnie made us feel looked after, and we’ll absolutely stay here again on our next Orange Beach trip.
