Holiday Inn Express Pensacola Downtown by IHG

The only real problem was the noise from maintenance in the room above mine. They were hammering on the floor early in the morning, apparently laying carpet or padding around the outer edge of the room. Otherwise, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The location is great, within walking distance of pretty much all of downtown Pensacola.

When we want to stay downtown in Pensacola, this is our go-to hotel. HIE IHG also has a great place at Pensacola Beach, where we stay too. Both locations are great, with comfortable beds and good sheets, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. We love the new coffee and complimentary cookies. There’s lots to explore downtown, and the beach location couldn’t be better.

I’ve stayed at this location about 25 times, and there used to be complimentary water bottles in the room every time. It may sound petty, but you come to expect certain things, especially for what they charge each night. They also used to have cookies and popcorn in the lobby. Those welcoming touches are gone. On top of that, the shower hadn’t been cleaned, and there was long black hair on the control handle. Nasty. Somebody’s getting stingy. We’ll look somewhere else next time.

The staff really made the stay for me. My room was spotless every day, and the front desk team were warm and welcoming. The hotel is also in a great spot, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and attractions. Amenities were top-notch, including a gym, washer and dryer, and a well-stocked breakfast that even had soy milk. I highly recommend it if you’re visiting Pensacola.
