Phoenix X 808

We love Pheonix X and usually book five weeks each year, and the facility itself is still one we’d recommend. The pool and new splash pad are great, the beach service is amazing, and security brings carts back from the parking deck. Elevators were quick, and several restaurants are within walking distance. We also loved the updated balcony furniture. But unit 606 needs a lot of attention compared with other units we’ve stayed in. The master mattress should be replaced, the ice maker didn’t work despite three maintenance visits, and both the toilet spindle and seat were broken. The chairs were worn, the sofa sagged in the middle, and the dryer wasn’t drying. My husband pulled it out and found a Walmart bag full of sand and lint in the hose. I feel lucky to be here, but we did not love this particular unit. For the same price, I’d choose another one. My rating is specifically for unit 606.

The views are beautiful, and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed the lovely beach, patio seating, and both the indoor and outdoor pools. There’s a private parking ramp attached to the condos, too. Floribama bar and grill is right next door and has live music. We couldn’t hear it once inside the condo, though you can hear it when you’re out on the balcony.

We keep coming back to Phoenix X, unit 1114. I’ve lost count of how many stays we’ve had. The three bedroom, two bath layout gives us plenty of room, and it’s always clean and well cared for. Christa is a gracious, attentive host who’s updated the place over the years. The beach here feels much less crowded than GS. From the balcony or shoreline, we’ve watched dolphins every day on every trip, and one year we saw groups of sting rays passing by. The pool has lots of space to swim or lounge, and we enjoy the indoor pool and hot tubs as well. Being beside the flora-bama makes it easy to walk over for food, drinks, and live music. Coastal, a few miles down the street, has great views and really good food, too.

The whole group had a blast here. We loved the condo, the amazing view, and the pool. Such a great environment, and I’d definitely recommend it.
