Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Orange Park by IHG

We’ve stayed here many times and had been happy until this visit. My wife found a very used crack pipe under the sink while reaching for a towel. The cleaning staff had supposedly just changed the towels and cleaned the room, but apparently didn’t notice it. The GM and manager gave us another room, and the GM and housekeeping came up and saw the pipe. They didn’t seem to do much, and when I brought up calling the police, they didn’t seem urgent about it. The GM said he’d never seen that kind of thing and offered our points back, along with the room change. Thank God we’re adults. I hate to think what could have happened if a child found it. The new room seems clean, but now I wonder if housekeeping is actually cleaning rooms or just checking them off. Management didn’t seem to care, so I’m letting corporate know about the incident and their lack of concern. Update: Apparently nobody seems to care as long as it isn’t brought up again.

The breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold options and cost just $5 per person, though it wasn’t free. My two suggestions: heat the pool, which I’ve always wished for, and do something about the chicken sausage. Most days it was awful and inedible.

When we checked out, I mentioned the heater problem to a worker. The bedroom had been at 67 degrees even though the thermostat was set to 75 for hours, and the afternoon had been chilly. We figured out that the heater blew cool air, and even when it was off, the unit let cold air in from outside. It was late and we were exhausted, so we covered the bedroom doorway with a sheet to keep the draft out, then turned the living area unit up to 75. Within an hour the bedroom reached 71. It was 20 degrees that night, and maybe nobody had reported this before, so I’m not blaming the hotel. We also found used tissues behind the nightstand and a sock behind the bedroom TV while tidying up to leave. They weren’t in the spaces we usually used, so we let that go.

We had our wedding and reception at the hotel on 10/25/26, with only a week’s notice, and Mr. Diaz and the staff made the day feel perfect. The buffet dinner was delicious, the decorations looked beautiful, and my guests were impressed by the service and professionalism. Everything went smoothly. My husband and I feel so lucky to have found this hotel, and we’ll celebrate our first anniversary here too. Thank you to Mr. Diaz and his team for making the day so special. Sincerely, The Presleys
