The historic Pinehill Inn made such a lovely base for exploring the town and the surrounding area. I wish we’d had more time there. The grounds are a pleasure to wander, our room felt warm and welcoming, and the hospitality was outstanding. Christina was a thoughtful, wonderful hostess, and breakfast was so fantastic I’d give it more stars if I could.

We had two separate bedrooms, which worked perfectly for me, my wife, and our seven-year-old daughter. The bathtub was in the main bedroom, though that wasn’t much of an issue for us. The owners are a friendly couple who live on site, and the house has a European feel, including steam radiators in our room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room was clean with the usual amenities: shampoo, bar soap, conditioner, chocolates by the bed, two bathrobes, a built-in hair dryer, and a small fridge. Breakfast is self-serve, with cereal, oatmeal, muffins, several kinds of bagels and English muffins, different coffee flavors, and a range of yogurts.

We live about an hour away, so this is one of our favorite places for a quick getaway. The homemade breakfasts are a real treat, and we like being able to help ourselves to the little kitchenette during the day or late at night. We stayed in the Somerset room with my husband, which is our favorite for its king-sized bed and bathtub.

Chris and Ken welcomed us like family, and Chris’s breakfast was incredible. The quiche was tall and fluffy, with homemade hollandaise. The inn has lovely grounds and great porches, and every room is appointed beautifully and comfortably. We didn’t want for anything. I’m not a fan of cold or snow, but I’m already thinking about coming back in a few months.

The owners were so welcoming, and the hostess took sensible precautions at arrival: she checked our temperature and asked us to keep distance from other guests and wear masks. That was reassuring. The Bonaparte Room was cozy, clean, and maybe even romantic, with a fireplace and Duralog, more available on request, plus a small fridge, TV, and charming ensuite full bath stocked with soaps, lotion, towels, and a generous bottle of hand sanitizer. The pantry was full of fruit, juice, bottled water, hot apple cider, tea, oatmeal, and grits. There’s a pretty dining area with two-top tables or a full dining room table to use. Parking was easy, and finding the inn wasn’t difficult. The hosts run a beautiful inn, and I hope to return when I can. Thank you!
