We were in town for BGSU Family Weekend, and even though this place is about 15 miles from the school, it was still fairly close. The room was spacious, nice, and clean, and I slept really well. We missed the continental breakfast, but when we checked out, one of the cleaning ladies offered us some. That was thoughtful, even though we declined. A few hours after we left, Lindsey called to say we’d forgotten our iPad and that she’d keep it in her office until we could return. We really appreciated that honesty and decency. It feels rare these days.

The room was very clean, but the smell was terrible. We opened the windows and still couldn’t get rid of it. There were also lots of loud people downstairs in the evening. This place doesn’t even deserve one star. Never coming back. Go elsewhere, or across the street to the Hamptons.

We were harassed by another guest and by staff. False accusations and intimidation made us so uncomfortable that we didn’t feel safe leaving our room until checkout. When we told a manager about it at checkout, she was accusatory and dismissive. This place preys on women and small children. If you’re traveling with kids, even well-behaved ones, look elsewhere. They’ll do what they can to make you uncomfortable by intimidating you. The manager even admitted they cater to the corporate businessman.

The hotel itself was nice, but we felt harassed by the front desk and manager Joe. We checked in at 4:30, got snacks for the kids, and rested after a full day at the zoo. Someone called to complain about noise while we were all sitting in bed. Later, we went to the pool and got back around 7:30. We had just gotten the kids into the bath when someone banged on the door, less than five minutes after we returned, about a second noise complaint. As a mother with children, I felt targeted and harassed. We were afraid to leave the room, tiptoed around, and had the kids whisper. In the morning, we packed and woke them. Within two minutes of their feet touching the floor as they walked back and forth, the phone rang with a third complaint. I went downstairs to speak with manager Joe. She basically said many corporate workers were staying there, they worked 12-hour days, and we must have been a problem for him to call three times. We’re two single moms with small children. The kids were exhausted and very well behaved, and I couldn’t even hear them from our bathroom. This did not feel family friendly. We felt targeted in a hotel catering to corporate men.
