Comfort Inn & Suites Orem - Provo

Our room door opened without a key when we arrived, and the parking situation was confusing from the start. There was very little space, tiny signs, and no clear directions beyond being handed a permit and left to figure it out. Management wouldn't accept even partial responsibility for failing to explain the rules. I've always had hotels tell me where parking is allowed, and this one needs much clearer signs and instructions, especially when it's full. With about an hour left at breakfast, they were already running out of food even though the hotel was fully booked. We usually have good stays at Comfort Inns, but I won't return here. Read everything they hand you. I'd rather pay more than stay again.

The location was a plus, but it wasn't enough to make me want to return. When we came back around 6 p.m. after leaving shortly after 11 that morning, our door was standing open. Housekeeping had wedged the safety lock between the door and frame, leaving the room accessible while we were out. The beds had been made carelessly, the room smelled unpleasant, and it wasn't as clean as it should have been. Breakfast was also lacking, and the elevator button for the third floor didn't work. Taking the stairs was manageable until we had to haul bags and a cooler down three floors. This place needs repairs and more care from staff so rooms aren't left open to other guests.

I've used Tesla chargers at 50 to 70 locations across six states, and I've never before been refused a restroom at a charging stop, unless the place was closed or had no restroom nearby. This hotel has a Tesla charger in its parking lot by the fringe entrance. I have an ongoing digestive condition and asked the front desk to use the bathroom. He said no, the restrooms were for guests. I could have explained my condition, but what bothered me was that he seemed amused by refusing, even chuckling. It left me thinking he still wouldn't have changed his mind even if I'd had an accident on his floor. Reading other reviews, it seems like service here may not be a priority for guests either. That's my experience to add.

The room smelled bad the whole time, and noise from neighboring toilets and showers was constant. There was no parking available, the TV signal dropped every few seconds, and the TV was the smallest I've seen in a hotel. The magnetic door locks needed reprogramming several times a day. Housekeeping made the bed but didn't change towels or clean the room. Breakfast was the same limited selection each day, and the food was stale, awful, and made us sick. In the room, the carpet was torn, the bed broken, and the desk chair only reclined without proper adjustment. The faucet was broken too, and the shower head came up to chest level. With the tub slanted, standing comfortably was impossible. One of the worst hotel stays I've had. I wouldn't recommend it.
