Inn On The Lakes

I found this privately owned hotel on Google and liked its quaint feel. The front desk woman was amazing and accommodating, and let us check in two hours early. The pool and grounds looked beautiful, but the windy, cool weather meant I couldn’t enjoy them. A nice touch was breakfast delivered to the room: you fill out a menu, choose a half-hour delivery time, and it arrives the next morning. I much prefer that to the little buffet most hotels under $200 a night offer. Sebring turned out to be a much bigger town than I expected, and a lovely lake community, a real star in Central Florida. The rooms were nice but dated. No real complaints, and I felt I got good value for the money.

The lake is gorgeous, and the views from the pool are stunning. The decor and atmosphere made me think of a dream Italian Toscana village. As a disabled American, I found it very accessible and easy to get around in my wheelchair. My sister moved to Sebring, and I hadn’t seen her place, so I hired a driver to take me to see the neighborhood. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby, including outback, olive garden, chillies, and hibachi, as well as Publix, Aldi, and Walmart. They bring complimentary breakfast to your room. 10/10.

We stayed one midweek night at Inn on the Lakes and were surprised it was so full. Sergio matched the lowest price I’d found online through a third party. We chose a lower-priced room facing the parking lot, but it was surprisingly quiet despite the busy street nearby. The older windows kept the traffic noise out. The roomy king room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the hotel had the charm of an older place with modern conveniences. No mildew or other odors. The pleasant evening weather let us sit on the pool deck by the smaller lake, among the flower pots. It felt like sitting in a garden looking over the water with a glass of vino. We’d certainly stay at Inn on the Lakes again if we return to Sebring.

Had a lovely stay. The breakfast was smackers, and the room was spotless, with nice natural light and a good view of the water. My only complaint is that vending machines were sparse, and there weren’t complimentary drinks in the mini fridge, which was a bit tough for me.
