We got a studio and the grandkids liked having a TV each. Outside, we walked around exploring the nearby stores and restaurants. The main reason for our staycation was the heated pool, which felt great on a chilly day when we needed thick jackets to be comfortable outdoors. Breakfast was a big hit too, with plenty to choose from and waffles the kids could make with our help. It was a great stay near home.

The hot tub and breakfast were both highlights, and the place was quiet and relaxing enough to get good rest. My room was ready and spotless when I arrived, with a super comfortable bed. The hotel was clean and well located, and the front desk staff were kind and welcoming. This was my first trip to Utah, and I wanted somewhere comfortable and reliable. It exceeded my expectations. I don’t usually write reviews, but I had an amazing stay and will definitely come back next time.

The main reason I’m giving four stars is the musty, mildew smell in the bathroom. It seemed to come from the sink and overflow drains, and there was black mold in the overflow hole. I reported it, and management assured me they’d clean it right away. Leaving the bathroom light on so the fan ran cleared almost all the smell. Otherwise, the recently remodeled room was very clean, including the floors, which passed my white sock test, and the shower was pristine. The bed was comfy, with pillows of different firmness to choose from. The fridge’s freezer nearly completely refroze my ice packs. Water was very hot and plentiful, and pressure was adequate. The hotel is in a convenient, quiet spot just off University Parkway, though watch for the entrance. If you pass it, you have to drive around the block to get back.

The one helpful part of this inconvenient stay was the front desk guy who checked us in and out. It was the same person, and he was extremely helpful, definitely five stars for him. The rest of the experience deserves zero. Our booking site had sent the wrong card, so we had trouble checking in. Once that was sorted, we found the room dirty, especially the bathroom and downright gross tub. There was damage to the unit, which I photographed so we wouldn’t be charged for it. We were traveling with a pet and made sure he didn’t damage anything. The next day we asked for the room to be cleaned. The clerk said he’d see to it, so we put our things aside, took our pet, and left for a few hours. When we returned, nobody had cleaned and it was still just as dirty. After I showered, despite having debated using that tub, the knob came off the wall and nearly hit my foot. Maybe I turned it off too hard, though I wouldn’t have expected it to jump off. Our key cards also stopped working four times in one day, sending me back to the desk each time. I kept them in their package and away from my phone and other magnets, but they still got deactivated. I’d give the hotel zero stars if I could.
