Homewood Suites by Hilton Orland Park

The room on the top floor was very spacious, and the parking lot was roomy too. I also liked the large lobby and its beautiful decor. The housekeeping staff were hospitable and the manager was kind. Homewood Suites by Hilton Orland Park was a nice place to stay, with malls and other businesses nearby.

The breakfast room was bright and open, with helpful staff. Veronica was excellent during our stay, easy to talk to and a great communicator. There was a nice spread of clean, quality food. Andrew welcomed us warmly at check-in and took good care of us. The hotel is conveniently close to restaurants, shopping, and the interstate. It was clean and well maintained, with a sensible layout and very spacious rooms. Friendly staff and a desirable location made it a good option for either a short or longer stay.

The room I was given had no bathtub, so I couldn’t properly bathe my two young children, ages 2 and 4. I asked to change rooms. Susana Contreras-Rios, the operations manager, initially refused, then agreed to move us to a room with a tub but demanded an additional $581.60. I found this completely unreasonable and unacceptable. Families with small children deserve basic consideration, not a charge of hundreds of dollars just to get a usable bathtub. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t return to this property.

Sedrick and Susana were flexible and reassuring about the hotel being pet-friendly, which mattered since not many places allow cats. They were also very accommodating during an emergency: I had to leave my cars behind while I was away so an outside car transportation agency could move them.
