Monumental Movieland Hotel

The location is excellent, and with better basic cleanliness and hygiene, this could be a wonderful hotel. I understand it may not be a high-star property, but I expected basic standards. We only stayed one night because we arrived very late. In the morning, we saw cockroaches, mold in the bathroom, and dirty walls and baseboards. The shower barely worked, so it was impossible to take a proper bath. The elevator was extremely dirty too, showing a clear lack of cleaning and maintenance. Our experience fell short of basic sanitary standards, so we checked out early.

The room was the worst part: musty, with old furniture and mold around the shower. The TV was tiny, and the phone for the front desk didn't work. The outside was poorly lit after dark, and the front elevator was out Friday night. The staff were nice, the I Drive location was convenient, and the room was cheap. Those were the only upsides. I wouldn't book here again.

The room was filthy, with blood on the floor, sticky floors, bugs in the building, and a broken TV and air conditioner. The staff tried hard to help, and they were very helpful, though they seemed aware of how bad the place was. This is a dive where sheets cost extra, and it shouldn't be listed on reservation sites.

Getting here through the heavy I drive traffic was difficult, and outside the lighting made the property look deserted. I was already wishing I could get a refund, but the reservation had me locked in. Then I waited ten minutes at the glass window before anyone came to check me in. There were no luggage carts, so we struggled to get everything into the elevator. In the room, the TV was on but there was no remote, and a king bed had only two pillows. We got just two bath towels, one face towel, and one hand towel. The whole experience was really bad. monumental movie land hotel deserves zero stars.
