What a disgusting surprise. We arrived late and had an early conference, so we couldn’t cancel after seeing the place. This was the worst hotel experience of my adult life. Online photos are extremely misleading, and this place needs to tell the truth in its advertising. Finding it was hard because the main entrance sign light was out, along with the hotel’s neon sign. The room was filthy, the paint was peeling, lights didn’t work, the towel rack was crooked, and bathroom vents were falling from the ceiling. The bathroom fan and light wouldn’t turn off. There were huge holes in the shower where water could get in and mold could build up. Soap and toilet paper had been left by the previous guest, and nearly all the tub’s finish was gone. I barely slept, worried about bed bugs, and was afraid to shower or walk around without shoes. It was also obvious that some people live there full-time. I have plenty of photos, though I doubt I’m the first to complain. When I went to the front desk with my concerns, two other guests were there doing the same. I can’t see how anyone could expect good reviews, referrals, or repeat customers.
I was left without a room after midnight, even though I’d arranged a late arrival in advance. I contacted the Days Inn office staff because the hotel’s number on Priceline was out of service and the Google number was never answered. I told the office I’d arrive after midnight because of a late flight, and they said they’d notified the hotel and late check-in would be fine. When I arrived, the front desk staff said check-in was over and refused to let me in. When I explained that I’d notified the office, he said, “Let them give you the key. I don’t have it for you.” Nobody tried to help or find a solution. This was extremely unprofessional and unaccommodating, and the hotel doesn’t provide basic customer service. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else.
I felt unsafe here. The place was dirty and outdated, with chipped and broken things everywhere, and the rooms were barely lit. I had to clean a drawer before putting my clothes in it, and the hairdryer smelled burnt. People were arguing in the yard, and the staff were extremely unhelpful. Apparently the whole building had no extra pillows, towels, or blankets. The hotel entrance is through a sketchy service plaza back alley. Spend the extra $50 somewhere else, honestly.
We never got to stay, so I can’t say much about the hotel itself. When we arrived around 11:30 pm, the doors were locked. One sign said the door stayed closed from 12am-5:30am and to ring the bell at the side window. Another said the front desk was closed from 9pm-9am. We rang several times and nobody answered. It was dark inside, we couldn’t see anyone, and the flickering neon made us feel unsafe, so we left as quickly as we could. Looking at other reviews, maybe we avoided a rough night.
The location near the airport and attractions was the best thing about this place. It was one of the worst rooms I’ve stayed in, and I can’t imagine staying more than a few hours. There were dead cockroaches in the room, though the beds and bathroom were clean. The layout was strange, with no lights in the main room, so we had to use the lights by the bathroom. The charging outlets were in odd spots, and I had to leave my phone on the floor to charge. Staff were fine, but didn’t show us to the room properly, leaving me to search for the room at the very back at night. Nobody answers the phone either, so they’re completely unresponsive. Also, this doesn’t really seem like a Days Inn hotel, more an independent facility that appears to have a franchise-name license.
