Vista Cay at Harbor Square by Casiola Vacation Homes

We were comfortable in the rooms, though they could use some updating. The balcony was a nice place to relax, and the pool area added to the vacation feel. Vista Cay is handy for getting to the parks and nearby dining. The staff were friendly and the customer service was great. I’d recommend staying here and would come back.

Our three-bedroom apartment was clean and had everything we needed for the stay. The grounds were well cared for, and the pool was great. It’s also conveniently close to Universal Studios parks and dining.

We’ve had a really poor stay so far, and it’s only day two. Millenium management made some effort to address things, but housekeeping seems to have missed the unit, and nobody appears to inspect it between guests. The floors are so dirty that my toddler’s socks and my bare feet turned black. I asked for housekeeping, was told they came by, but the place was untouched: still dusty, no fresh towels, the bed wasn’t made, and the trash was still there. Management said they had “touched up” the place. My choices were to move rooms, which is a hassle with a three-year-old, or ask housekeeping to come “touch up” again. Seriously, who’s managing that team? On the first night, the low-battery fire alarm kept beeping all night. The garbage disposal was broken, so water backed up while we were making Thanksgiving dinner. The utensils were so worn they bent when scooping food, and the oven dial had worn off so you couldn’t tell the setting. In one bedroom, a frame had been taken down and left leaning against the wall. It fell on my 72-year-old MIL’s foot when she walked in. I would never bring my family back here.

The rooms are spacious, and the location worked well for our conference. Those were the only positives. Staff weren’t accommodating, and we were told checkout was 11 a.m. at check-in, then 10 a.m. on the day we left. The unit, bedrooms, and bathrooms were dirty. After only a few steps inside, the bottoms of our feet were black. The trash can and bedroom fans were broken, and the TV remote didn’t work. The mattresses were awful, and we all left with neck and back pain. Noise carries from upstairs, where kids ran around constantly. The AC can’t be set below 72 degrees, so sleeping cool isn’t an option. The front desk phone number didn’t work, which meant driving over whenever we needed even a small thing. Also, if you get mail, they charge $1 per pound to hold it. I wouldn’t stay again.
