The room was awful: it smelled moldy, the carpet was stained and torn, and the stove and refrigerator were dirty enough that I’d be wary of using them. The place is old and needs remodeling. It’s crawling with roaches, so you can’t even put food in the trash. Most of the time, the maids don’t actually change the sheets; I found two old socks and an old Ed Hardy shirt under the sheet on the mattress cover, lol. Some tenants seem to live there, judging by their behavior and excessive drug use. Definitely a one-star hotel, not a 2.5. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Before this incident, my four-week stay had been pleasant. The other staff, especially housekeeper gladys and one of the female managers, were kind and professional. I was even told I was a “well-liked” guest. My complaint is specifically about manager Tony and how he handled the extension issue. When I tried to extend my reservation, a technical issue with Booking.com meant the front desk couldn’t see my request, although I’d made it the night before. Tony was immediately rude and dismissive, showed no empathy, and told me to contact Booking.com instead of helping from the hotel’s side. I explained that other customers could run into the same problem too. He seemed to take that as disrespect toward him as the “person in power,” then escalated things. He said, “matter of fact, I’m not checking you in,” and walked away. Despite my four-week stay, he said he didn’t care when I asked to speak to someone else because he was the manager. He eventually gave me a number, which I presume was corporate, and told me I had 30 minutes to get my things and leave. I was admittedly frustrated and said I couldn’t just leave after four weeks. He again said he didn’t care. He threatened to call the police, so I called them myself to make sure the situation was documented. The officers told me they had already been called to the property multiple times in just a few hours that day for similar situations. One told Tony he should get “Security” because they weren’t extended stay police. They said it wasn’t an isolated incident. Shortly before my situation, an elderly man and his son had also been put out over another “miscommunication,” suggesting a pattern of escalation and poor conflict resolution. I also photographed a large roach in the stairwell before leaving. When I showed it to Mr. Tony, he just stared blankly without saying a word. Hospitality calls for patience, professionalism, and problem solving. This could have been settled quickly and respectfully, but instead it escalated through poor communication, lack of accountability, and unprofessional conduct. Management shouldn’t be on a power trip with guests; I can’t imagine how he treats employees. I’d advise caution, since the experience may depend on who you encounter.

We’ve been staying at 1760 Pembrook Dr. since around July 2025, I think, and are nearing a year here with my husband and our three-year-old. It’s been much more relaxing since Tony took over and the new management and maintenance team came in. We started before that, and some earlier experiences with management and the front desk weren’t great. Now the service is A1. If we have a concern, the front desk deals with it instead of brushing us off or making us feel crazy. Some rooms and hallways have roaches, though pest control’s powder and other methods have kept them away. I don’t leave certain foods out overnight, and I put down some Combat Max gel myself. Since the powder was laid down, there haven’t been signs of bugs near it, eating it, or in the room. The furniture and appliances aren’t all nice to look at, but the mattresses are comfortable, the AC gets very cold, the heat works, and the rust on the outside of the fridge hasn’t stopped it keeping food fresh. 😁 The location works really well for a stay-at-home mom with a toddler. There’s a 7/11, chik-fil-a, and wendy’s a 9 to 10 minute walk away, an ER a 45-minute walk or 3-minute drive away, a smoke shop a 25-minute walk or 2-minute drive away, and Grace Church on Pembrook Dr. There’s also a hidden gem for kids in the housing community behind the apartments at the roundabout. 🤫 Thank you Tony and Mark and Maxwell and Noah and Mike, plus all the housekeepers and anyone I’ve missed. You’ve made this stay comfortable and worthwhile while my husband works hard. I don’t want to leave until we find our forever home, I swear y’all rock. 🥹🤘🏽 P.S. The light fixture situation is NOT my doing! 😆💀

I arrived late, but the number posted for service got a man to come right down and check me in. My first room was infested, so I called again and Micheal moved me to another one. Unfortunately, that room was infested too. I can’t sleep in a mess like that, so I asked for a refund. He assured me he’d return my money, and he did. Customer service was great, but staying there was a big no for me. Book somewhere else.

We arrived after midnight, and the staff were very accommodating about letting us check in late. The room looked worn, though it seemed clean, and there was no hair dryer. We found a cockroach right away and another dead one in a cabinet. Since it was late and we only needed the room for one night, we stayed and slept with the lights on. The only supplies were a little bar of soap and one extra toilet paper roll. It seems like people live here, and it’s an affordable option. There was hallway noise all night, a dog barking, and kids heading to school at 7 in the morning.
